About Me
John Musso brings a thoughtful, client-focused approach to real estate, shaped by years of experience in one of the most competitive markets in the world. A graduate of Millsaps College, John began his career in accounting before following his long-standing interest in architecture, interiors, and the energy of city living into real estate.
After moving to New York City, John launched his real estate career at The Corcoran Group and later spent more than a decade with Douglas Elliman, where he worked on one of the top-producing teams in the country. During that time he was involved in more than $650 million in residential transactions, guiding buyers, sellers, and investors through Manhattan’s complex co-op, condo, and luxury property markets.
Working in New York sharpened John’s ability to manage fast-moving transactions while paying close attention to the details that make deals successful—from preparing properties for market and navigating competitive negotiations to coordinating attorneys, lenders, and financial professionals through closing. Just as important, it reinforced his belief that real estate is ultimately about people. Known for his easygoing personality and clear communication style, John has built lasting relationships with clients from all walks of life.
John also brings a strong appreciation for design and how thoughtful presentation can elevate a home’s value. His eye for interiors helps sellers position their properties effectively and allows buyers to see potential where others might not.
After spending many years in New York and a period in Miami during the pandemic, John returned home to Baton Rouge to be closer to family and reconnect with the community that shaped him. Today he brings the perspective, discipline, and market strategy developed in a world-class real estate environment to clients across the Baton Rouge area.
Friends and clients alike often describe John as detail-oriented, approachable, and steady under pressure someone who takes the work seriously but never takes himself too seriously. Whether helping a first-time buyer, advising a family on the sale of a long-time home, or working with investors, his goal remains the same: to make the process feel thoughtful, well-guided, and ultimately rewarding.
Outside of real estate, John enjoys art, interior design, travel, and spending time with family, friends, and his two energetic cocker spaniels at home in Baton Rouge.
